How to change your letters preferences when you are a patient at multiple hospitals

You always have the option to choose whether you prefer to receive paper or digital letters. You can update your preference by text SMS or by logging into your Patient Portal.

To Switch by Text Message:

• To go paperless: Reply with DIGITAL to any SMS from 07860 039092 and follow the instructions.
• To get paper letters: Reply with PRINT to any SMS from 07860 039092 and follow the instructions. 

Important: you will need to repeat this operation for each of your hospitals. Only one number at a time can be entered. Please see the screenshot below for an example. In this case we changed the first hospital preference (Test provider name (-2). To change the second in the list we will have to type PRINT again and restart the process:

Do not reply 1,2 or 1, as it would not work. Just enter one number at a time and the automation will be able to recognise your choice.

To Switch by Patient Portal:

• Log in to your Patient Portal using this link https://drdoctor.thirdparty.nhs.uk;
• Select one of the hospitals in the list;
• Go to Settings;
• Click the 'Go Paperless' switch highlighted below
• Repeat for any other hospital Trusts.
