At times, you might receive a message about an appointment that you do not recognise. This can occur for several reasons:
1. The appointment was booked recently, possibly on your behalf, and the confirmation letter is still being mailed to you.
2. The appointment was scheduled a long time ago and has been forgotten.
3. Your phone number may have been recorded for someone else under your care like a family member.
4. You might be on a service waiting list and have now been invited to schedule your own appointment date and time.
Here’s what you can do:
- If the appointment is not imminent, wait for a day or two to see if the confirmation letter arrives in the mail.
- Contact the hospital using the phone number provided in the message. They can confirm if the appointment is indeed for you, remove your phone number from their records if it is not, and investigate why your number was stored. They can also help with any other questions related to appointments.
You can reply "STOP" to any text messages to completely stop communication, but please note that this means you won’t receive updates about any of your future appointments.
